Sony 

Who are they?

Sony is a global leader in electronics, entertainment, and technology known for its consumer electronics products, including televisions, smartphones, cameras, gaming consoles, audio, and home theatre systems.​

What did I do?

I led a team of copywriters, designers and other creatives for 8 years helping Sony connect with people and show the difference a Sony product can make to their lives. As Sony’s lead digital agency, this meant everything from new product launches, and campaigns to style guides, tone of voice and content creation across multiple digital channels.

As Head of Copy and Creative Team Head, I developed brand guidelines, tone of voice documents and style guides for use around the world by Sony’s teams and partner agencies. I also travelled to give training on how to write and create content for the brand.

Working closely with stakeholders from different teams around the world, but mainly with the management teams in Tokyo, I led the content creation and migration for the roll out of two new responsive platforms. This also meant creating and delivering immersive experiences for hundreds of products.

Rolling out two new platforms

Over 8 years in this role I was heavily involved in two global website roll outs, travelling frequently to Tokyo and Istanbul to work with management and technical teams on the development of the platforms.

The content we created was far ranging, but had a focus on Product Detail Pages and ‘Out Of Flow’ marketing pages (anything from a campaign landing page to a deep-dive into a new technology). Using a responsive module library we created flows through the site to support people right through to purchase.
