Intermountain Health

Who are they?

Intermountain Health is one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the western United States.

What did they need?

After merging with three other health systems, Intermountain Health needed a new digital experience to reflect its new brand and to effectively service multiple locations across states.

A new brand and a new site was not only essential to convey the new breadth of proposition it offered, but to ensure that Intermountain Health stayed top of mind (and Google), in an increasingly competitive landscape.

What did I do?

Over 15 months I worked with an agency to create a new web platform built from the ground up on Sitecore 10. Starting as a copywriter, I ultimately took over content strategy and copywriting and content upload until the end of the project.

I worked with teams across the organisation, as well as hospitals, clinics and individual health care providers, to create content that meets people’s needs on their terms - everything from how they find care and book appointments, to billing and following up with physicians.

Working in an agile way, our goal was to make Intermountain Health a benchmark in how to support patients through a care journey. This included workshops, stakeholder interviews and surveys, brand strategy and tone of voice and content audits across multiple legacy domains.

Iterative User Testing

We also conducted multiple rounds of user testing evolving design and content iteratively, to not only develop page templates, but also the components used to create them - first in Figma, then in Sitecore.

A template for the future

The content and components we created and the approach we defined, were handed over to Intermountain Health’s in-house team as a flexible and creative foundation to build on.
